Halloween is a great time of the year for your baby to learn about fall colors and the fun of dressing up! Try these fun activities with your baby during this festive season! As always, remember to pair these activities with some reading by sharing my book Scary Halloween Costumes with your child to set the festive mood!
Halloween Dress-up
Warning! This activity is so cute you are going to have WAY too many photo opportunities. Grab some hats from around your house or thrift store. Then sit on a cozy blanket  near a mirror together and play dress-up! Talk about the textures and colors of each hat, the person who may wear the hat, the place you may find someone who would wear the hat, and just have fun. Your baby may want you to wear the hats instead, and that's okay. Have fun with this activity that can be played at Halloween or anytime of the year.

Baby Safe Halloween Finger Painting
Your baby is going to love this fun activity! Red and yellow make Halloween orange when they are mixed together. Squirt a dollop of whipped cream, ketchup, and mustard onto the tray of your baby's high chair then allow them to swirl the colors together with their fingers. Draw letters, shapes, and numbers and say the words for each. You can even press a piece of paper on top and make a colorful print! Plan on this one after a meal time, so you only have to clean-up once.
Halloween Squish Bag
If the previous activity was a little too messy for you, you will love this one. Squirt some shaving cream (regular-- not gel) into a ziplock bag. Then add a few drops of red food coloring and a few drops of yellow food coloring. Gently push out any extra air. Zip the bag closed and tape over the zipper to make sure it doesn't open. Now, allow your baby to squish and squeeze the bag to combine the colors. You can even add a few Halloween themed foam shapes or erasers for your child to discover while they squish.

Scary Halloween Costumes is the perfect book for your young children. Jack is trying to find the perfect Halloween costume but he doesn't understand that the word scary has different meanings-- especially at Halloween. This five star ranking book states "customers find the book entertaining, with one mentioning it's a humorous Halloween story. Moreover, the storytelling receives positive feedback, with one customer noting it's a relatable tale between siblings. Additionally, the illustrations and writing quality are well-received." ~Amazon
